51ST TASK FORCE OF SENIOR OFFICIALS MEETINGS-MARCH 2026.

The ESAAMLG held its 51st Task Force of Senior Officials meeting in Arusha, Tanzania on 23-27 March 2026.

The 51st ESAAMLG Task Force of Senior Officials Meeting officially opened on 23 March 2026, bringing together delegates from across the region and international partners.
Opening the meeting, Task Force Chairperson, Ms Jean-Pauline Gashumba, called for strong member commitment as ESAAMLG advances into the Third Round of Mutual Evaluations, with a clear emphasis on effectiveness and preparedness.

Key priorities this include:

Consideration of multiple follow-up and high-level mission reports

Adoption of the Horizontal Review of the Implementation of FATF Recommendation 8 in the ESAAMLG Region

Admission of DRC as a full ESAAMLG Member

The Chairperson also reaffirmed the critical role of the ESAAMLG Secretariat, led by Ms Fikile Zitha, and called on member countries to continue providing technical support and expertise.
